Christof Naier, Gallus Group’s vice president of marketing and sales, reports that the company exceeded all prior trade show sales records in the company’s history during Labelexpo 2015 in Brussels.

“The Gallus exhibit was very active,” says Naier, “Particularly with North American visitors, who appear to be consistently impressed with the exceptional efficiency and solid performance of the Gallus ECS 340 flexo label press.”

According to Naier, the Gallus ECS 340 is the most popular flexo label press in the industry, with over 320 machines sold worldwide since its introduction in 2009. He continues, “At Labelexpo, we debuted a number of new enhancements to the Gallus ECS platform, including a breakthrough energy-efficient UV curing system in partnership with GEW; the new robust A-Line Screen printing plate which maximizes printing speed and increases re-usability; a unique Twin-Lock cylinder; and upgraded doctor blades. Because the initial press design was engineered to adapt to emerging innovations, all of these new features are available for retrofit on earlier models of the Gallus ECS press as well as on new equipment.”

In addition to the Gallus ECS platform, Gallus also unveiled the new Gallus DCS 340, or Digital Converting System. The press, a collaboration between Gallus, Heidelberg and Fuji, represents, Naier says, “the industry’s most advanced integrated converting system for digital label printing. The press starts with a blank roll and delivers finished labels completely converted without the need to transfer to ancillary equipment for secondary operations.”

The first Gallus DCS 340 sold at the show for a US destination will be delivered in July, 2016.
